About Fernald & Zaffos
Fernald & Zaffos is a litigation firm founded in 2009 by Brandon C. Fernald, with offices in Encino, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. We represent businesses and individuals in insurance, real estate, employment and commercial disputes, on both sides of the table, and we try cases when they don’t settle.
How we work
The firm was founded to provide the quality of legal work found at national firms with a more streamlined, cost-conscious approach. Our partners have each practiced law for more than 25 years, and our attorneys came from firms including Norton Rose Fulbright, Fulbright & Jaworski, Gibson Dunn, Hogan Lovells and Horvitz & Levy.
We are trial lawyers. Most cases settle, and we prepare every case as if it will go to trial, because that is what produces good settlements. When a case doesn’t settle, we try it, before juries, judges and arbitrators, and defend the result on appeal.
Both sides of the table
We represent policyholders against insurers and defend insurance brokers. We represent buyers and defend sellers and agents. We defend employers and represent employees with meritorious claims. That experience gives us a realistic read on how the other side will see a case. We screen every matter for conflicts before taking it on.
Two states
With offices in Encino and Las Vegas, we handle matters under California and Nevada law, including disputes that cross the state line.
